Howdy Alpha family!
Guess what? I am almost FIVE now! That’s a whole hand with all my fingers up. I wanted to tell you all about my big, fun, silly life because life has been SO exciting!
I Love School

I started pre-kindergarten. My teachers both have cats! I can write all the letters, even W and Q, which are kind of weird. I like math the most. My favorite activity at school is the dramatic play group. I like to pretend I’m a mommy to all the babydolls! I think I would like to be a teacher when I grow up…or maybe a princess, too.
My First Hockey Games Ever

This past year, I went to TWO hockey games in Buffalo and Columbus to watch the Vancouver Canucks play, dad’s favorite team. The rink was super cold (even colder than my freezer at home!) It felt kind of silly wearing a hat and gloves inside the whole time. The players had giant skates and zoomed around everywhere. Sometimes they bumped into each other and fell down. Other times they would fight! The ref would make them go into this thing called a “penalty box”. We watched a player get a penalty for “complaining” to the referee! How silly of him – I already know that complaining can lead to timeouts 😊 Mom and Dad joked we should get a penalty box at home…I did NOT laugh at that. My toes were cold and my voice was tired from yelling GO CANUCKS GO! But we got a soft pretzel and I felt warm and happy. I’d like to play hockey someday but only if it is for a team with pink jerseys.
Oh No, I Broke My Bone

One day, I tried bowling for a strike. After my turn, I learned quickly that you shouldn’t play with the ball return. When a ball rolled back, my hand was already on another ball, my fingers went smoosh, and I yelled OUCH! We had to go to the doctor. They looked at my “boo-boo” with a big camera that can see my skeleton called an x-ray. The picture showed my bones! The doctor said, “You broke your finger!”
I had to get a bright PINK cast up my whole arm! Guess what? It Even Has Sparkles! And I can swim with it! I can’t use my arm for four weeks, but my cast is really beautiful and I can write with my other hand pretty well (who knew?!) My bone is getting better and my cast should come off soon. I don’t know if I ever want to bowl again though…
P.S. If you ever hurt yourself, always tell a grown-up right away! They help you feel better fast.
Thank you for listening to my update! I hope you all had an amazing summer and I look forward to talking again much sooner this time.
I have to go now because my babies want a snack. Happy Fall!
Until next time,
Aubrie Wren
